Tibetans thank Under Secretary Sewall

On January 11, 2017, the Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama Mr. Penpa Tsering oversaw a farewell meeting for the out going Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights at the U.S. State Department, Dr. Sarah Sewall. Dr. Sewall concurrently served as the Special Coordinator for Tibet issue.

The farewell meeting was attended by representatives of the Office of Tibet, International Campaign for Tibet, and the Capital Area Tibetan Association (CATA). CATA was honored to participate in the meeting and joined all attendees in offering katas to Dr. Sewall and expressing their sincere gratitude for the Under Secretary's support for Tibet.

Representative Mr. Penpa Tsering offered a Buddha Shakyamuni Thangka to the Under Secretary as a token of appreciation and further presented her with a personal farewell message from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He extended his deep appreciation to her on behalf of all the Tibetan inside Tibet and in Exile.
