Reception and Talk with Tibet Policy Institute

On June 23rd, CATA was pleased to welcome a delegation from the Central Tibetan Administration’s Tibet Policy Institute (TPI) to the Washington, DC area. CATA hosted a reception in their honor and members of the community enjoyed a very informative presentation on the current research topics being pursued by the TPI research fellows. These research areas were as follows:

  1. Dr. Tenzin Tsultrim la (Ph.D) - militarization and infrastructure in Tibet

  2. Tenzin Tsetan la - Chinese government’s influence on Buddhist centers in China

  3. Tenzin Dalha la - influence of social media on Tibetan issue

The audience was highly engaged and asked a range of questions to the research fellows. It was a very informative evening and CATA is very appreciative to the research fellows for their time and expertise. Thank you also to TPI's Deputy Director, Tenzin Lekshay la, for his time and insights.

Lastly, thank you to all the CATA members who attended, especially our younger community members, and for your active participation in the question and answer session.
