The Capital Area Tibetan Association (CATA) is a registered 501(c) (3) non-profit organization based in Washington DC metropolitan area. CATA is committed to preserving and promoting the rich Tibetan cultural and spiritual heritage, and is dedicated to the principle of non-violence under the leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Connect the young Tibetan-Americans to their history, heritage and language.

What We Do?

Organize community events and activities.

Maintain close communication with the Office of Tibet in Washington, DC and the Central Tibetan Administration.

Raise funds for various social and developmental projects within the Tibetan Community in the Tibet and India.

Support a weekend Tibetan language school for the young Tibetan Americans.
