Tibetan New Year Celebration

Tibetans in the Washington, DC metropolitan area gathered to celebrate 2142, the Wood Sheep year Tibetan Losar (New Year) on February 20, 2015. As part of tradition, the evening started with Kathag (White scarf) offerings to His Holiness the Dalai Lama's thorne, followed by numerous traditional songs and dances from local Tibetans. CATA has invited long time Tibet supporters, including International Campaign for Tibet's Presidnet Matteo Mecacci, and Conservancy for Tibetan Art and Culture's (CATC) secretary William Shuyler. Mr. Shuyler announced donation to Tibetan community to preserve Tibetan culture and identity.
