Xi Jinping Protest Rally
Tibet Groups Rally to Protest Chinese President Xi Jinping to Stop the Repression in Tibet. Washington, DC - September 25, 2015
A coalition of Tibet groups will protest Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Washington, DC visit to highlight China’s increased repression inside Tibet and to urge the US administration to raise the issue of Tibet publicly with the Chinese President.
Tibetans have suffered more under Xi Jinping’s leadership due to his policy of increasing restriction and curbing even the most basic rights of Tibetan people. To date at least 143 Tibetans inside Tibet have self immolated as a means of protest against Xi’s government, calling for freedom and the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
As President Obama and the US administration hosts Chinese President Xi Jinping for a State visit, a coalition of Tibet groups will raise our voice, amplifying the calls of freedom from Tibetans inside Tibet and send a strong message to Xi Jinping that Tibetans will not be silenced.
