CATA participates in the Refugee Ball (DC)

Members of the CATA board were honored to represent Tibet at the Refugee Ball held in Washington, DC on January 17, 2017.

The Ball brought together the immigrant community, refugees, asylum seekers, advocates, and immigrant supporters to celebrate the core humanitarian values of compassion, diversity, and inclusiveness that underpin refugee programs. CATA board representatives wore colorful chupas and prepared over 300 momos to include in the Ball's diverse array of ethnic food.

A highlight of the evening was the musical performance by our very own community member, Karma Gyaltsen la. Karma la's beautiful voice and traditional instruments filled the synagogue with songs from Tibet. CATA would like to extend its deep gratitude to Karma la for taking the time to attend the event and for representing Tibet so wonderfully. Our sincere thanks to Karma la!
